A lightbox is a thin enclosure with a translucent front that gets illuminated from behind. There are two main types:
Display Lightboxes:
- Used for showcasing graphics, signs, or advertisements.
- Typically found in retail stores, restaurants, trade shows, and other commercial spaces.
- Lightboxes use a light source, often LED strips, to evenly light up a flat panel like fabric or a rigid material where the graphic is displayed.
- This creates bright, eye-catching visuals that stand out even in low-light environments.
- The graphics on display Lightboxes can be easily changed, making them versatile for promotions or showcasing different products.
Lightboxes for Viewing:
- Used to examine translucent materials like films, transparencies, or X-rays.
- Often found in photography studios, medical offices, or art studios.
- They provide a uniformly lit surface with daylight-like color temperature (around 5,000-6,000 kelvins) for optimal viewing.
- This allows for clear and accurate assessment of details on the transparencies.
